Techniques & Breakdown

This hands-on course is designed to equip you with the core skills needed to begin tambour beading. Our expert tutors will guide you through the mechanics of a tambour hook, teaching you how to handle it safely and use it effectively to create the signature chain stitch. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll learn how to apply beads using the tambour hook, opening up a world of creative possibilities for intricate embellishments.

Materials & Kits

Before every taster course, we ensure that all students are fully prepared by providing a detailed kit list well in advance. This list includes all the materials and tools you'll need to participate in the session, along with direct links to recommended suppliers, making it easy for you to source everything ahead of time. You will need: Size 70 Tambour Hook, Matt Fil A Gant Thread, Strung Seed Beads, Strung Bugle Beads, Silk Organza 40x40cm piece, Embroidery Needles size 12, 10 inch Hoop (preferably a seat frame) and Embroidery Scissors.

Our online courses are delivered via Zoom using a high-quality visualiser for close-up stitching. We record each session so you can catch up or revise later. You’ll also be added to a dedicated WhatsApp group, where students and tutors can connect, share photos, ask questions and cheer each other on.

Shipping Information

All of the materials for your course will be shipped to you, unless otherwise stated in the product description.

UK Shipping - Parcels will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 3 days before the course start date, at the latest.

International Shipping - Parcels are shipped via express courier 2 weeks before the course start date, at the latest. If you book in the 2 week window, we cannot guarantee on-time delivery.

Additional Items in Your Order - If you place an order that includes both your course and other shop items, these will all be shipped together with your kit. If you would like non-course items sooner, please place a separate order.
