A Floral Anthology
A Tapestry of European and Indian Textiles
This collection is inspired by the creative journey we embarked on whilst visiting our workshops in India late last year. Immersed in the vibrant culture, intricate designs and rich textures of the region, A Floral Anthology embodies the spirit of cross-cultural exchange, bringing together the charm of rural Europe, inspired by holidays close to home in France and Italy, with the spirited artistry and craft tradition of India and the wider South Asian region.
Delicate floral patterns and pastoral imagery intertwine with intricate, paisley motifs, blooming flowers and fantastical fruit. Muted earth shades and pastels provide a base for rich jewel tones of teal and aubergine.
Our inspiration was enriched by the William Morris Gallery's Art from the Islamic World exhibition and visit to their private archive. The V&A's The Great Mughals: Art, Architecture & Opulence exhibition further fuelled our exploration of the cross-pollination between European and Asian design.
For centuries our creative exchange has flourished and this collection pays homage to that legacy. Working alongside our artisans in Varanasi, we developed the collection, combining traditional and contemporary techniques and materials to create something brand new.
