Discover Goldwork embroidery in our Seaside Starfish Taster. In this 3-hour workshop, you'll create a beautifully embroidered starfish using a selection of traditional metal thread embroidery techniques combined with beading and thread work. Perfect for complete beginners and those new to Goldwork, this relaxed and inspiring class introduces the fundamentals of this craft while guiding you through a charming coastal-inspired design. You'll learn how to apply a variety of Goldwork materials and techniques with personalised support from our expert tutors every step of the way. To make your project yours, you are able to choose your own selection of fabric and bullion colours before you begin.

Techniques & Breakdown

This playful taster class offers a great introduction to the art of goldwork embroidery, starting with the very basics of the technique. Our tutors will guide you through fundamental skills, showing you how to cast onto your fabric, apply pearl purl and beads. As well as creating a satin stitch base and topped with delicate essing and goldwork loops. All techniques will be demonstrated live by our experienced embroidery experts who are on hand to support you in your new found skill.

Gold Seed beads

Anchor thread or stranded cotton of your choice

Technical Information

Our online courses are delivered via Zoom using a high-quality visualiser for close-up stitching. We record each session so you can catch up or revise later. You’ll also be added to a dedicated WhatsApp group, where students and tutors can connect, share photos, ask questions and cheer each other on.

All of the materials for your course will be shipped to you, unless otherwise stated in the product description.

UK Shipping - Parcels will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 2 weeks to 3 days before the course start date.
