This playful taster class is the perfect introduction to Tambour beading for beginners or anyone looking to build confidence with a Tambour hook. With guidance from our expert tutors, you’ll learn how to work with a tambour hook to apply beads smoothly and efficiently onto fabric. You’ll be shown how to use the tool to create lines in all directions as well as different ways to apply beads and sequins . All techniques are demonstrated live, with tutors on hand to offer personalised support as you get to grips with the embroidery technique.

Techniques & Breakdown

In this technique-focused session, you will learn how to use a tambour hook to apply beads and sequins with speed, accuracy, and control. Starting with the basics of setting up your fabric and hook, you’ll be guided through a range of tambour techniques, including continuous beading, individual bead placement, and securing sequins. Each technique is demonstrated step by step, with expert guidance available throughout to support your learning.

Silk Organza base fabric 

Fil a Gant thread of your choice 

Strung beads

Strung Sequins

Tools:

Embroidery hoop 

Tambour hook size 70

Embroidery Scissors

Embroidery Needles size 10 & 12

Technical Information

Our online courses are delivered via Zoom using a high-quality visualiser for close-up stitching. We record each session so you can catch up or revise later. You’ll also be added to a dedicated WhatsApp group, where students and tutors can connect, share photos, ask questions and cheer each other on.

Shipping Information

All of the materials for your course will be shipped to you, unless otherwise stated in the product description.

UK Shipping - Parcels will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 2 weeks to 3 days before the course start date.

International Shipping - Parcels are shipped via express courier 2 weeks before the course start date, at the latest. If you book in the 2 week window, we cannot guarantee on-time delivery.
