Duration: 6 Week Embroidery Course (1 x 2.5 hour session per week for 6 consecutive weeks)

Over this six-week course, you’ll learn how to create a personalised floral monogram, combining colourful silk shading with contemporary goldwork techniques. The class begins with a floral background, where you’ll learn how to use silk threads to build colour, shape and detail across the design.

Your kit includes a wide range of colourful threads, giving you plenty of choice when creating your floral background. You’ll then personalise the piece by choosing your own letter to embroider in goldwork over the top, creating a unique design that is entirely your own. Throughout the course, you’ll explore a range of techniques including silk shading, goldwork cutwork and other decorative embroidery methods. You’ll learn how to combine the softer, blended effect of silk shading with the structure and shine of goldwork to create contrast and texture within the design.

Whether you’re creating a monogram for yourself or as a special gift, this six-week class gives you the opportunity to develop your embroidery skills while creating a beautiful and personalised finished piece.

How the Course Works

Technical Information

Our online courses are delivered via Zoom using a high-quality visualiser for close-up stitching. We record each session so you can catch up or revise later. You’ll also be added to a dedicated WhatsApp group, where students and tutors can connect, share photos, ask questions and cheer each other on.

All of the materials for your course will be shipped to you, unless otherwise stated in the product description. Once your kit is dispatched you will be send tracking details.
