Description

Location: This course is delivered via Zoom & WhatsApp. Please click here for guides to using Zoom & WhatsApp

Duration: 4 Week Embroidery Course (1 x 2.5 hour session per week for 4 consecutive weeks)

Over the four-week course, you’ll explore a variety of embroidery techniques, learning how to combine metal threads, beads and colourful threads to build a richly textured and embellished design. Techniques include couching, chipping, beading and more, with each process carefully guided to help you develop confidence and discover the versatility of contemporary embroidery.

Working on a blue gingham base, your design comes to life through a bright palette inspired by ripe summer fruits, layered together to create a playful contrast against the classic gingham ground. Throughout the project, you’ll experiment with different textures and surfaces, combining the structure of goldwork with the softness of threads. From delicate details to richly embellished areas, each element adds to the charm and character of this cheerful picnic-inspired design.

Whether you are new to goldwork and decorative embroidery or looking to expand your existing skills, this four-week course offers a relaxed and inspiring introduction to contemporary techniques, encouraging you to play with colour, texture and embellishment while creating a bright and joyful finished piece.
