Duration: 4 Week Embroidery Course (1 x 2.5 hour session per week for 4 consecutive weeks)

Over this four-week course, you’ll explore silk shading embroidery through a collection of three floral butterfly designs. Using a range of colourful silk threads, you’ll learn how to create soft colour blends, delicate shading and detailed floral forms to bring each butterfly to life.

Throughout the class, you’ll develop your silk shading skills, exploring how to build up colour and create depth using carefully blended stitches. Each butterfly combines floral elements with delicate details, giving you the opportunity to practise a range of silk shading techniques within three different designs.To finish each piece, you’ll introduce goldwork accents, adding a touch of sparkle and contrast to the softer silk embroidery. Combining silk shading with goldwork creates a varied and textured finish, bringing together two beautiful embroidery techniques.

Whether you’re looking to improve your existing silk shading skills or want to explore combining silk embroidery with goldwork, this four-week class offers a chance to create three detailed and colourful floral butterflies.

How the Course Works

Technical Information

Our online courses are delivered via Zoom using a high-quality visualiser for close-up stitching. We record each session so you can catch up or revise later. You’ll also be added to a dedicated WhatsApp group, where students and tutors can connect, share photos, ask questions and cheer each other on.

Shipping Information

All of the materials for your course will be shipped to you, unless otherwise stated in the product description. Once your kit is dispatched you will be send tracking details.
