Like Emerald’s reimagined ‘’Wuthering Heights’’, we have imagined our own hand embroidery kit inspired by the film's visuals and the original book.
Embroidered onto a muted green base, ‘The Wuthering Tree’ kit depicts a crooked tree trunk with twisted branches and falling leaves, embroidered in silk shading and goldwork techniques.
Hearts stem from the tree's roots in a bold red which is heavily featured in the film. Brontë's sister and fellow novelist Charlotte once described the book ‘as wild and knotty as the root of heather’.
Swirling winds and icy raindrops surround the tree in a metallic silver thread and silver bullions.
The Initials ‘H+C’ are ‘carved’ into the trunk, reminiscent of Cathy carving names into the woodwork of her window ledge at Wuthering Heights House.
