Lace, love letters and secret languages; our 2026 Valentine’s Collection celebrates the language of love, the Victorian way.
The ancient art of the love letter dates back more than 5000 years but it was the Victorians who developed complex coding systems to be able to send secret messages in a time when courtship rules were strict.
A ‘language of stamps’ was developed by intentionally placing stamps at a diagonal or upside down, which sent a coded message. ‘Floriography’ or the language of flowers also boomed in the Victorian era, where letters headed with symbolic flowers might carry a secret message meaning hope, faithfulness or sincerity.
This simple sealed envelope patch is embroidered on an antique cream colour cotton canvas, with soft cotton threads for a vintage look.
Available with either iron on or stick on backing, attach your envelope patch to your favourite shirt, jacket, notebook or diary.
This patch can be personalised so you can send your Valentine your own secret love message.
Personalise with up to 3 characters in a choice of script or serif font in 3 colours.
Embroider your initials, to signify that your heart belongs to them, your loved ones initials or perhaps characters that signify a secret code that is special to you both.
Please allow extra time for your order to be dispatched when choosing the personalisation option as these will be made bespoke in our studio. Personalised items cannot be returned. Please check your spelling as once this is embroidered we cannot make any changes.
Personalisation is available for iron-on patches only
