Charting an unknown course, our fictional voyage took us to the island of ‘Paradisus’. A sanctuary abundant with vibrant tropical flowers and exotic birds in dazzling colours; the design is inspired by the imagined avian wonders encountered within the canopy. The Birds of Paradise Jewellery Box also pays homage to the art of discovery documentation including illustrated journals, specimen books and Victorian taxidermy display cases.
Set against a warm peach backdrop, reminiscent of a tropical sunset filtering through the trees, is an embroidered tableau of colourful birds perching amongst twisting branches and foliage. Rich embroidery and delicate metallic detailing bring the scene to life. The box is complete with details such as a coral contrast ribbon pull, internal embroidered details and a signature Hand & Lock brass plate.
