We didn't have to spend long foraging for inspiration for these patch designs. May Morris' work is full to the brim of flora, fauna & fruits.
Pomegranates are a recurring theme that feature in a number of her works, whilst the orange is instantly recognisable as a reference from 'Orange Tree' c.1897.
Using soft & natural cotton threads, we have used May's hand embroidery as direct inspiration to design these machine embroidered patches. Manually designing - stitch by stich - we have followed the textures & stitch directions created by May back in the 1890's.
The blanket stitch & cross stitch like techniques and warm autumnal colour palette make these patches perfect for the cosy season ahead. Affix to outerwear jackets, beanie hats and tote bags for a decorative detail.
