Hand & Lock’s ‘Love Struck’ Taster is the perfect playful introduction to the art of metal thread embroidery. In this 3 hour course, you’ll stitch a small arrow and heart using a combination of traditional Goldwork techniques. Perfect for newcomers and beginners to Goldwork, this class offers the chance to learn the basics of this elegant art in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whether you're a complete beginner or simply looking for a bite-sized project for Valentine's Day, you’ll gain valuable experience and receive personalised support from our expert tutors as you work on your piece.

Techniques & Breakdown

This playful taster class offers a great introduction to the art of goldwork embroidery, starting with the very basics of the technique. Our tutors will guide you through fundamental skills, showing you how to cast onto your fabric, apply Pearl purl, Chipping and Cutwork. All techniques will be demonstrated live by our experienced embroidery experts who are on hand to support you in your new found skill.

How the Course Works

Technical Information

Our online courses are delivered via Zoom using a high-quality visualiser for close-up stitching. We record each session so you can catch up or revise later. You’ll also be added to a dedicated WhatsApp group, where students and tutors can connect, share photos, ask questions and cheer each other on.

Shipping Information

All of the materials for your course will be shipped to you, unless otherwise stated in the product description.

UK Shipping - Parcels will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 2 weeks to 3 days before the course start date.

International Shipping - Parcels are shipped via express courier 2 weeks before the course start date, at the latest. If you book in the 2 week window, we cannot guarantee on-time delivery.

Additional Items in Your Order - If you place an order that includes both your course and other shop items, these will all be shipped together with your kit. If you would like non-course items sooner, please place a separate order.
