Join Hand & Lock for an exciting exploration of traditional Goldwork Embroidery, featuring our intricately detailed beetle design. Over the course of a full day, you’ll learn a range of traditional Goldwork techniques with support and advice from our expert tutors. Suitable for beginners and those wishing to develop their embroidery skills, this class offers a relaxed and supportive learning environment with personalised guidance. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of fundamental Goldwork methods as you work towards a stand out-piece, leaving with both new skills and a design to be proud of.

Techniques & Breakdown

This ornate taster class is an ideal workshop for those looking to build their confidence with Goldwork Embroidery. With the help of our tutors, you’ll learn how to lay a padded felt base to then work your cutwork detailing over. You’ll be shown how to apply Pearl purl for the leg and antenna detailing, and learn how to use Purl Bullions to work chipping and decorative bullion loops. All techniques will be demonstrated live by our experienced embroidery experts who are on hand to support you in your new found skill.

Technical Information

Our online courses are delivered via Zoom using a high-quality visualiser for close-up stitching. We record each session so you can catch up or revise later. You’ll also be added to a dedicated WhatsApp group, where students and tutors can connect, share photos, ask questions and cheer each other on.

Shipping Information

All of the materials for your course will be shipped to you, unless otherwise stated in the product description.

UK Shipping - Parcels will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 2 weeks to 3 days before the course start date.

International Shipping - Parcels are shipped via express courier 2 weeks before the course start date, at the latest. If you book in the 2 week window, we cannot guarantee on-time delivery.
