Duration: 6 Week Embroidery Course (1 x 2.5 hour session per week for 6 consecutive weeks)

This six week course explores tambour embroidery through a contemporary, fashion-focused design inspired by damask roses. Working with deep berry tones on a white organza, you will create a bold, textured piece that combines traditional techniques with a modern, runway aesthetic.

Throughout the course you will learn the foundations of tambour beading using both Aari and Lunéville methods, developing speed, control and consistency in your stitch. You will work with beads and sequins to build rich surface texture, while also incorporating threadwork techniques to add detail, line and contrast within the floral design.

You will explore fabric manipulation with the hook to create dimensional elements that echo the layered forms of damask roses. These raised areas will be integrated with your tambour work, helping you understand how to balance embellishment with form.

By the end of the course you will have a strong grounding in tambour techniques and their creative application, along with a finished piece that reflects a high-fashion approach to embroidery, with depth, texture and a confident use of colour.

In this class, you will be taught the basics. Some familiarity with tambour techniques will help you get the most out of this class, but guidance is provided throughout to support your progress and enjoyment.
