The Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve, RNVR, was a volunteer force of officers formed to serve the Royal Navy in emergencies or times of war. The RNVR were established in 1903 and played a significant role in both World Wars but was merged with RNR in 1958 to form the Royal Naval Reserves.
