Anger

Through Anger, Sabrina explores how the unspoken histories carried between generations of women can become a source of strength, protection and collective memory. The work brings together a black dress constructed from recycled vinyl records and a large embroidered tapestry. In the tapestry, intertwined threads connect individual fabric figures, creating a shared image that reflects the way memories and experiences are inherited, carried and connected across generations. The dress becomes an armour-like form, transforming anger into a physical expression of resilience and refusal to remain silent.
The thread is central to both pieces, not only as a material but as a metaphor for connection. Each vinyl sequin on the dress was individually handmade and hand-embroidered, turning a fragile, repetitive process into a garment that appears powerful and protective. The tapestry similarly emerges through the slow accumulation and intertwining of thread. For Sabrina, embroidery is also a process of discovery: through time, repetition and dialogue with the material, meaning develops alongside the making. What begins as a personal response becomes a collective story, connecting the women whose stories came before with those who will continue them.
