Hajj's Odyssey

Using traditional techniques as her ink, Hajj’s Odyssey highlights the hidden stories within her family. It is the creation of an heirloom and a reimagining as embroidery traditions are renewed through personal experimentation.

With the use of applique, handmade beads and natural threads India builds up the layers of the family story. Using sepia tones as inspired by treasured photos she reignites the identity that is carried through the memories. India wants to draw an audience into the chapters of the lives of relatives that lived before.
