The 'Vine' hanging c. 1916 was originally embroidered by May Morris & others on a golden shade of linen using coloured silks. A large central motif of a swirling leaf can be seen adorned with delicate vines and ditsy flowers. We have created a pair of asymmetric earrings using cloth of gold as the base, and embellishing with goldwork bullion & beads. The earrings are a flipped mirror of one another creating a balanced and complete ensemble.
