I See You: Noticing the Unnoticeable
Mentor: Olga Prinku
Country:
Ruta Malik is a Lithuanian artist based in London. Engaged in creative practices from a young age, she was particularly drawn to textiles for their tactility and malleability. Her passion for texture and detail naturally led her to hand embroidery, which she studied at the Royal School of Needlework.
This body of work is inspired by observing the natural world and appreciating the simple, everyday moments that are often overlooked. Taking time to slow down, reflect, and preserve what matters becomes increasingly important in our fast-paced society, and this is the message conveyed through Ruta’s collection. Noticing finer details and seeing a deeper value in ordinary objects are key principles in her practice.
