Ephemeral Beauty - The beauty in the temporary

Harriet's submission, inspired by the fragility of cut flowers in her garden, captures fleeting beauty, the feeling that time is passing, but through stitch it can be frozen in motion. Flowers act as a metaphor for life’s temporality, while embroidery acts as a lasting record of beauty that would otherwise fade with time.

As her painted foundation is washed away, embroidery becomes a tool to explore texture, movement. Creating the intimate feeling of holding a delicate flower, relying on the same sense of touch through embroidery. Stitch by stitch, emotion becomes tangled with subjects rooted far beyond the painted surface.
