Inheritance in Bloom

Kai Otsuki is an artificial flower artist trained in Japan. He graduated from Bunka Fashion College’s haute couture course and is currently studying Fashion MA at Kingston University, London. His work fuses embroidery and floral embellishment to create beautiful, wearable art that balances craftsmanship with expressive design.

His piece is inspired by archival embroidered gloves from Dents and British regalia, reinterpreted into a sculptural jacket. Rose and acanthus motifs reflect power and historical identity, while snake and spider elements—drawn from the colour “Future Dusk”—evoke mystery, fear, and transformation, capturing beauty within tension.
