Amy's journey in the world of embroidery is both impressive and inspiring. With a degree in textile design and a specialization in hand embroidery, she has truly made a mark in the field. Her skill was recognized early on by the Embroiderers Guild, which led to her work being showcased at prestigious events like the Knitting and Stitching Show. This recognition paved the way for her career as a freelance embroiderer and technician at Birmingham City University.

One of Amy's most notable achievements came right after graduation when she contributed to the Netflix series "The Crown," working on the queen's wedding veil—a task that highlights her exceptional craftsmanship. Her expertise has since been sought after by institutions like the London College of Fashion and Birmingham City University, where she imparts her extensive knowledge of both traditional and modern embroidery techniques to students.

Amy's association with Hand and Lock, first as a freelancer and now as a tutor, allows her to continue sharing her passion with others. If you attend one of their newly renovated school's weekend embroidery courses, there's a good chance you'll find Amy guiding students through the intricacies of embroidery, passing on the skills that have defined her remarkable career.

Quote from Amy: ‘Don't compare your chapter 1 to someone else's chapter 20’

Fun Fact: When I was 10 years old, I got to be a background actor in one episode of BBC's "Silent Witness" television show, where me and a class of other school kids had to pretend we were getting sick from an unknown illness. Does that mean I can say I started as a child actor?!
