One of Morris' most popular & intricate compositions, 'Acanthus' was worked on by May Morris and a team of others most likely between 1900-1910.The Lilium Brooch directly references an elegant corner flower in this piece. The blooming lily like shape includes contemporary goldwork and running stitches to create a dashed pattern. French knots and loops of bullion complete the design.
