Join us this festive season where we’ll be combining the elegance of Goldwork and velvet applique in this charming seasonal design. In this three day course, you’ll learn how to make your very own Goldwork Christmas decoration. Our expert embroidery tutors will teach you how to apply goldwork techniques such as cutwork and purl pearl, complete with felt padding and applique in order to assemble this hanging design. This festive project is perfect for those looking to explore goldwork and add a stunning handmade decoration to their home this season. 

This 2 day course will teach you how to create raised elements with felt padding. You will learn how to combine goldwork techniques such as cutwork and pearl purl on applique and this class will show you how to seal your embroidery in order to create a firm backing for the decoration. 

All of the materials you need for this class will be provided for you as part of your course experience. You are more than welcome to bring your own embroidery equipment if you would rather use your own materials but everything will be provided for you.

Accessibility

Our in person classes are taught in our school which is located upstairs in our studio. Unfortunately the building does not have lift access, so use of the stairs would be necessary.

Tutor Profiles

Our bespoke classes are taught by expert hand embroiderers who have worked in the couture industry for brands such as Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Dior, Valentino, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, YSL, Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana, Schiaparelli, Lanvin and Burberry to name a few. The classes will cover the basics, insider tips and practical application making sure students are fully equipped to go on and apply what they have learned to their own garments and develop their own unique styles. Our tutors are work embroiderers first and tutors second which means they are able to give you a unique insight into the magical world of couture hand embroidery.
