" The twined flower is one of the most delicate technique in Taiwanese culture, but it almost lost in this modern society."

In this work, I used a colour that can represent Taiwan and added the element “Twined Flower” that can stand for the traditional art of Taiwan. The twined flower is one of the most delicate technique in Taiwanese culture, but it almost lost in this modern society. This skill uses thread to wrap around the paper card and wire, after making each petal, gather it into a complete flower.

I grew up in Taiwan, and the colours used in my works are what I experience and feel every day. Taiwan, this subtropical place, diverse cultures create Taiwan’s vivid colours. The highly saturated colours are the most representative of this culture and region.

I hope that through my works, viewers can experience and approach my hometown.
