Moksh

The endless cycle of generation and regeneration in conjunction with demise holds the metamorphosis, the only constant element in the circle of life, “Samsara”, the very core of our existence, rooting to our Hindu mythologies, and the quest of finding the untrodden paths of a new dimension of freedom in the form of “Moksha” or the eternal salvation. Inspired by this very concept, my design explains the equilibrium of man and nature, the ultimate truth being, we are all made from dust and to dust we shall return. The infinite  journey in the phase of change from complexity- repression-misery towards stability and enlightenment is catapulted on the piece in the form of movement

of color from its shades to tints where the color red represents life and its vigor and passion. Keeping nature as my mentor and having experienced the power of healing and using the philosophy of Bio mimicry solved design challenges of sustainability and biodiversity, I have handcrafted the piece by using the ethics of sustainable materials and practices, celebrating journey and evolution. The entire experience for me has been eventful and enthralling, full of emotions where there have been moments of darkness, silence and stillness and moments of exuberance and light driving me towards the said goal.

“Moksha”- Liberation from the laden cyclic process of life, death and rebirth, a design representing movement from chaos to stillness, through sustainable materials and practices.

Materials used: Wooden Beads, Fish Scales, Cotton Threads, Glass Beads and Raisin Balls.
