Studio Manager

Jasmine Ataç

Newcastle born Jasmine switched from a career in graphic design to embroidery after studying at London College of Fashion. She joined Hand & Lock as our Studio Manager in June 2021.

Born in the mid-90s Jasmine grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne during the first years of the new Millennium. Introduced to creativity and craft from a young age, her mother taught her how to make stained glass and ceramic art. Along the way, she inspired her daughter’s life-long love and appreciation for quality design and artisanship.

After college Jasmine studied Graphic Design at Northumbria University, before having an epiphany during a visit to London. After visiting the Hand & Lock studio and being inspired by the vast array of dazzling embroidery, Jasmine decided to retrain at London College of Fashion, and apply to work for the historic embroidery house. She obtained her BA (Hons) in Fashion Textiles: Embroidery and successfully applied for the role of Studio Manager.

Now, the Hand & Lock studio manager, Jasmine is the first point of contact for many of our clients. As well as being keen to impress upon visitors the skills and precision of our embroiderers she is also adept at helping clients transform a nebulous idea into a solid action plan. Her passion for embroidery and her advocacy for the work of our team is infectious and will inspire you throughout your embroidery commission.
