We are happy to announce that you can now visit the Hand & Lock workshop; one of the older rooms still working in business today, contains an archive of embroidered work dating all the way back to 1790!
There are many reasons for you to arrange a visit to Hand & Lock, for example:
— If You are part of a group (min. 5), visiting London and are interested in hand embroidery, fashion, military embroidery, etc and Accoutrements, hand tour & Lock is definitely recommended.
— If You are a teacher or other of the following elements: fashion, textile, arts, design, fabric embellishments, history or embroidery and want to show your students examples.
— If You are a member of a guild and want to organize your trip quarterly.
We offer a guided tour of 45 minutes per group. During the tour you will see our own embroidery work on real projects, using techniques such as drum beads, and Trapunto Cornely, among others. You will be presented stunning pieces and samples we provided the fashion sector and the theater with, including examples of diplomatic and military dress Court worldwide. You will also have the opportunity to take a look at our archives from the eighteenth century.
