Meet Our Sponsors

The Prize for Embroidery would not exist without the generous support of our sponsors. Since the inception of the Prize for Embroidery, we have received support from the Victoria and Albert Museum, Swarovski, Pinterest, Liberty of London, Wilcom, The Royal School of Needlework and the Fashion and Textile Museum.

The Prize for Embroidery would like to thank the following sponsors:

The Bishopsgate Institute is a cultural institute in the City of London, located on Bishopsgate, near Liverpool Street station and Spitalfields market. The Institute was established in 1895, and describes itself as a “home for ideas and debate, learning and enquiry and as a place where independent thought is cherished”. It offers a cultural events programme, courses for adults, historic library and archive collections and community programme.

The Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers is one of the Livery Companies of the City of London. The Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers were incorporated by Royal Charter in 1693; the City granted it the status of a Livery Company in 1780. The craft originally associated with the Company, namely the making of gold and silver thread for uniforms or ceremonial clothing, has declined but is still practised. Thus nowadays the Company functions mainly as a charitable body.

Selvedge is a design-led, 100 page, bi-monthly magazine that covers every facet of textiles – interiors, fashion, art, craft, travel and shopping – in an intelligent and inspiring way. Founded in 2003 the magazine revolutionised the way textiles are presented and quickly became the world’s leading textile publication. Six times a year we cover textiles made with time, thought and skill in a magazine produced in exactly the same way – with quality writing, stunning photography and original illustration. Focusing on textiles doesn’t mean we turn our back on the rest of the world… the exact opposite is true. We see the world though a textile lens but cast our eye far and wide looking for links between our subject and achievements in other fields from architecture to archaeology.
