"One thing seems to be ever present – that is a power that emanates from my embroidery, strong, distinct energy."

My name is Justyna Wołodkiewicz. I come from Poland and an emerging artist, self-taught, driven by passion for art. In my artworks I tend to express soul and emotion energy – by color composition. The choices are intuitive and spontaneous, they may be subconscious translation of boquetes of feelings. The palettes vary from monochromatic cold blues to bright, vibrant mixtures. Some pieces follow the harmony rules, resembling splashed rainbows, some other are a footprint of exploration into conflict and ambivalence.

One thing seems to be ever present – that is a power that emanates from my embroidery, strong, distinct energy. I could call it cosmic energy and I could stitch (and sculpt) it down on a piece of cloth – as a reminder that all the souls are diving in that infinite ocean of energy. While the textures and overall structure of the artwork reflects the place of the soul in the Universe. The conflict of being the industrial animal under the wing of Wild Mother.

I incorporate polymer clay sculptures into my embroidery to make my pieces multi-dimensional. Also to investigate the unique combination of different techniques, that may be a metaphor in itself of permeation of different worlds; intertwined nature of our life.
