This four week course focuses on combining hand beading, goldwork and fabric manipulation to create a structured, contemporary embroidery design. Working on a navy base, you will develop a piece in layered tones of blue, purple and pink. Throughout the course you will learn how to apply beads and sequins building texture. You will be introduced to core goldwork techniques to explore how metallic elements can be used alongside softer materials. A key part of the course is fabric manipulation, including hand pleating, which will allow you to create raised areas and add dimension to your work. You will learn how to integrate these elements with stitching and embellishment so the design feels balanced and cohesive.
