for the 2017 H&L Prize for Embroidery
Every September the Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery begins its 14 month cycle concluding the following year in November.
The process starts with entrants registering though the H&L website and concludes with an exciting live judging at the historic Bishopsgate Institute in the City of London.
If you are entering the 2017 Prize this page will remind you where we sit in the schedule and what deadlines or key dates are looming.
Detailed below are the all important deadlines for registering, uploading images of you work in progress and for submitting final physical pieces.

Online Design Upload Portal Opens from 1st April - 30th June. Submit 3-5 images of work and final designs. Qualifying round for first round of competition.
The portal will close at Midnight on June 30th 2017. Any entries received after this time will not be eligible for the competition
Entrants notified and mentors assigned. If successful, you will be contacted by 21st July and allocated a mentor.
Final pieces must be received at the Hand & Lock studio in London by 17:30 on Friday 22nd September 2017.
Finalists, mentors, industry experts and press will be present. The vote is split between a judging panel and guests of the event voting for favourite entries.
