Head Designer

Scott Gordon Heron

Scott was born in Newcastle in 1986 and studied Textile Design at Nottingham Trent University. He has been a designer at Hand & Lock since 2010 and became Head of Design in late 2011.

As an embroidery designer Scott excels in translating his client’s vision into beautiful, complex and intricate embroidery. His traditionally hand-drawn design drafts are meticulously annotated resulting in great detail and richness in the final embroidered article.

Since joining H&L Scott has become especially skilled in heraldry design; following the myriad of rules and regulations to produce a perfect coat of arms or crest. A notable example being the large scale Royal Coat of Arms for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee H&L produced in 2012.

Scott is known within the embroidery industry for his attention to detail and artistic flair. His regular clients include Olivia Von Halle, Anya Hindmarch, Tom Ford, Robe Maker Kenneth Crawford and Ede & Ravenscroft.
