Hand & Lock's Sample and Concept Developer Renée Lindell was born in Stockholm in 1982 before studying Fashion Print at Central Saint Martins.
Renée joined Hand & Lock officially as a the in-house sample and concept designer in 2015. But her involvement with H&L goes back to 2007 when she won the H&L Prize for Embroidery as a student at CSM. Since then she has worked as a freelance embroidery teacher and as a Prize mentor, steering the next generation of designers.
Her reputation as a freelance embroidery designer has grown over the years and her work has been sought by the likes of Christian Louboutin and Louis Vuitton. With her industry knowledge, understanding of fashion embroidery and the processes involved in scale manufacturing she is a great asset to H&L.
As Sample and Concept Developer, it is Renée’s job to produce new coherent seasonal sample collections for industry clients. She uses trend forecasting, cutting edge embroidery, unusual materials, and ancient techniques updated to keep our fashion clients inspired.
"Renée is enthusiastic and effervescent in three languages; Swedish, English and Swinglish. Her designs really push boundaries and challenge what is possible with a needle and thread."
