Laura born 1990 in South Yorkshire, studied at Northumbria University where her unique eye for quirky design secured her a nomination for the innovation award at her graduation week show. She joined Hand & Lock in 2013.
Laura’s embroidery design style can be delicate and soft or bold and brassy. She is a versatile, fresh, vibrant designer who enjoys collaborating with other creative minds. Since joining Hand & Lock she has worked with a host of young emerging designers on their debut collections.
Helping them discover how embroidery can add luxury and richness to their catwalks, she is a great ambassador for contemporary embroidery design. Emerging designers such as Grace Wales Bonner and Ed Marler as well as established designer JW Anderson have called upon her design skills.
At H&L Laura has been taught the traditional techniques for drafting a design but has also been keen to encourage the implementation of modern technology to improve and speed up the design process.
"Laura is our resident fashionista even if her style has affectionately been described as the 'Floral Apocalypse meets Cruella Deville'"
